Catch 22 Track Club History

Formed in the Summer of 2000, this group meets bi-weekly to prepare distance runners of all ages and ability for competition on the roads, track, in cross country, and as an aid to those hoping to seriously improve in multi-sports. Carefully designed Tuesday sessions of between 2000-15,000 meters, usually on the track, allow club members to appear at the top of each and every New Orleans competition, whether the distance is 2 miles or 26.2 (marathon).

Catch 22 T.C. fills a void in the New Orleans athletic community by providing a true training group, at least once a week, for people with similar goals to work together and at higher levels than they could by themselves. Ideally, the training also fosters friendships between athletes and community members who might never meet apart from competition.

In the Summer of 2002, Catch 22 T.C. produced its first race. On June 18, at 6.45PM, in Audubon Park, 122 runners and walkers lined up to kick off the Summer Series 2002: "The Tuesday 2s"...Five hours, dozens of PR's, and two kegs later, the first Catch 22 T.C.-sanctioned event came to a close.
